In October 2018, I took a trip to Peru and purchased the Deluxe Travel Guitar for the trip. It was the best purchase I have ever made as far as travel guitars go…and I have made many.
Not only was it easy to get around with, which included hiking in the Andes in the rain, (the rain cover was perfect), but one particular experience was second to none.
When I changed planes in Lima to fly to Cusco, I had the assembled guitar on my back. As I walked toward the counter, I saw the woman’s face light up as she said, “Oh, you have a guitar. We have to charge you extra for that!”
Without hesitation, I took the guitar out, broke it down on the counter in front of her and said, “Okay, now it’s not a guitar anymore!” While she was a little annoyed that she wasn’t going to get extra money from me, I do believe she was impressed…and it fit neatly under the seat in front of me on the plane.
From playing in the mountains in the south to the jungles in the north of Peru, the guitar always kept tune and always sounded great. It wasn’t until I got back from the trip, that I was playing a gig in Los Angeles, broke a string on my main guitar, grabbed the KLOS, plugged it in and was blown away by how full of a sound it provided. The depth is truly astounding.
So, thank you for creating the perfect travel guitar. You have a lifelong fan.
