FAQ
The Jazzmaster and Stratocaster necks have the same heel shape, but can have some small differences. Be sure to order the appropriate neck for your guitar.
We currently only offer Medium Jumbo frets, which is the standard fret size used by Fender.
We currently do not provide any other necks other than the ones on offer. Our F-Series necks are designed to fit round or flat heels, 4 bolt or offset bolt patterns.
There currently are no plans to develop new shapes, but we may release necks in more shapes (like D), if there is interest.
We currently do not offer scalloped frets, but may provide them in the future if there is enough demand.
We do not recommend additional drilling into the neck itself. The pre-drilled holes have threaded metal inserts in them, so any new holes would not have the security and resistance to wear that the ones with threaded inserts have, and additionally they may get in the way of other holes being drilled.
Our necks are specifically built to accommodate our tuners, so we recommend sticking to them. However, other tuners may possibly work. Some Fender tuners will need some extra drilling or modification to fit correctly, which will void the return policy.
Yes, we do! Lefty necks are in the "Hendrix Style." Cosmetically, the side inlays and logo will be swapped to be in the correct orientation for a lefty neck.
KLOS Guitars is only selling the carbon fiber neck and pickguard. Fender® copyrighted material is being used to illustrate use case and application.
Stunning Sound
Deep lows and cutting highs. Hear carbon fiber's resonance for yourself.
Why a Carbon Fiber Neck Will Last Forever
Improved Durability
Carbon fiber has 60x the strength to weight ratio of steel. From the neck to the fretboard, this neck won’t wear down with time or get damaged from travel and abuse.
More Stability
Carbon Fiber guitars are designed to stay out of the case, ready to be played at all times. No more need to hide it in a case, under your bed, in a humidified room. Warping, twisting, high action, and fret sprouting simply won’t happen.
Unmatched Playability
Because carbon fiber is a much more stable material than wood, you can set your action with lower string height. Experience unmatched playability, speed and ease of use with a PLEK’d carbon fiber neck.
This neck is designed to fit most Fender Guitar bodies, this includes Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster, and most Squier bodies. The scale length will be the same, which is 25.5”, and the carbon fiber heel will fit into your neck pocket as well as your original neck does.
The heel comes with bolt holes that accommodate for the standard rectangular bolt hole pattern, as well as the offset contoured heel joint. The heel bolt holes have threaded inserts permanently installed.
If the KLOS upgraded carbon fiber neck does not fit with your guitar because of an unforeseen irregularity, you’ll be able to return it for a full refund assuming it’s not damaged in any way.
At Home - The installation process consists of several simple steps which will be provided upon receipt of your carbon fiber neck. First you take off your wooden neck by loosening the strings and then unscrewing the bolts. Then you’ll place the upgraded carbon fiber neck in the neck pocket to make sure that it fits. (But you know it will because you already checked our guide!) You’ll receive 4 screws to securely attach the carbon neck to your guitar body.
At KLOS Guitars with setup (Recommended) - You can choose the option to ship your guitar body to us and we’ll be able to install the neck for you. You won’t need to ship the neck. We’ll do a full set up with new strings to make sure the playability, action, and set up of your instrument is perfect. Because each wooden body might be a little different it is recommended to choose this option. The $100 price includes a shipping label that we’ll email you to ship your guitar body from you (contiguous USA only) to KLOS Guitars.
Neck Features
TUSQ Nut
TUSQ delivers a rich tone: crystal clear and a bell-like high end with big open lows, coupled with a significant increase in harmonic content and harmonic sustain. More harmonics means more richness and character in your tone. The nut width will be the standard 1 11/16" (43mm).
White Side Dots and Inlays
Clearly visible notation with a stunning black and white contrast, these classically styled inlays will remind you of the past as you look toward the future.
Stainless Steel Frets
Comes with jumbo stainless steel frets that last just about forever. No more need for replacing frets or worrying that they will wear out. The necks will only ship with medium jumbo frets.
All of our instruments and necks are processed through our PLEK machine, a computer controlled fret cutter that processes the frets, nut and saddle with perfect precision. PLEKing your neck offers impeccable relief and fallaway, resulting in incredible playability and impossibly low action. Each F-Series neck is installed on one of our bodies, fully strung, adjusted truss rod, inspected and played before it is shipped. Experience the new standard for yourself.
Our pickguard upgrade will replace your current pickguard precisely, leaving you with a more innovative, reinforced, and durable guitar. Stratocaster models will feature a stratocaster pickguard, while telecaster models will feature a telecaster pickguard. The pickguards will have Fender shapes, with only the knob, pickup and switches will change. Exact specifications will be obtained once an order is placed.
Choose between blank and fully loaded pickguards, which offer pickups, knobs and switches all in a pre-wired package.
