At KLOS Guitars, we believe in pushing the limits of what an acoustic instrument can do. Our Full Carbon Dreadnought is built for musicians who want an outdoor acoustic that feels as professional on stage as it does around the campfire. We made it durable and lightweight with a 24.75″ scale and a one-piece carbon fiber body and neck, so you get all the volume and clarity of a dreadnought without any of the vulnerability of wood. In fact, we highlight that carbon fiber is “extremely resistant to temperature and humidity,” so our guitar “stays in-tune longer and won’t warp, bend or crack in different climates”. In practice, that means whether you’re playing in arid heat, mountain cold, or seaside humidity, your guitar sounds consistent. You’ll never have to tune between songs again.

Tonally, the KLOS dreadnought is designed to deliver big projection and sustain. By sandwiching closed-cell foam between two carbon soundboards (our “Carbon Double Top” design) and using negative bracing, we boost the guitar’s volume, tone, and sustain. Listeners and players describe it as “booming” and “full-bodied.” As one reviewer put it, our 3/4-sized dreadnought (detachable-neck for travel) “offers the best of both worlds: booming tones wherever you go”. We also offer optional onboard electronics (Fishman, LR Baggs, HyVibe, etc.) so gigging musicians and recording artists can plug in and still get that rich, natural sound. Our KLŌS Tenor Pickup (active piezo preamp with tuner) or Fishman Sonitone undersaddle system both provide a warm, full-range amplified signal that stays true to the acoustic character.

Playability and feel are equally important to us. We use a detachable neck for portability (it folds into our patented “Convert” gig bag) and a genuine fast neck profile. Every KLOS guitar is PLEK’d to perfection, meaning it’s processed with a computer-controlled cutter for impeccable fret dressing and neck relief. The guitar has “impossibly low action” and precision frets; it's fun to pick up and play. Beginners and players with small hands will appreciate the comfortable neck and short scale (we chose 24 ¾″ rather than a longer scale, so chords aren’t a stretch). It’s similar in spirit to something like the Taylor GS Mini (a beloved travel-size guitar): as Taylor notes, the GS Mini has a “smaller body… with a big, bold tone that punches far above its size,” yet stays easy to play.
What sets our dreadnought apart is its construction and included extras. We call it “Full Carbon” because everything: top, back, sides, neck is carbon fiber. This contrasts with a guitar like a Martin X Series, which uses wood on top and HPL laminate for back/sides. Our carbon build is ultra-strong yet resonant. We even offer a “Carbon Timber” finish: a nickel-infused weave that looks and sounds warmer, emulating wood grain. Every full-carbon guitar comes with a gig bag and neck sleeve (made of durable camping-backpack material), a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and saddle, and a truss rod wrench – essentially everything a pro needs on the road. At under 4 lbs and small enough to fit in many airline cabin-size cases, it’s truly portable. You can compare it to other travel/acoustic designs – McPherson’s Carbon Touring is a ¾-size travel guitar noted for its “rich, full-bodied voice” and “outstanding volume, warmth, and dynamic range” – and our guitar holds its own. In fact, we often hear that KLOS delivers the best of both worlds: durability and big sound.

We built this guitar for a wide range of players. Beginners get a worry-free introduction (no fret buzz, no cracking wood, and easy fret spacing). Gigging musicians get a reliable workhorse that tunes up easily and can be quickly plugged in – similar to how Enya’s compact carbon guitars are marketed as stage-ready affordable instruments, or how Taylor markets small models for practice gigs. Outdoor and travel players get confidence: unlike many travel guitars, our carbon dreadnought never feels like a delicate instrument. You don’t have to fret over humidity or handle it gently; the KLOS dreadnought laughs off temp and moisture swings. Even recording artists will love the clarity and punch: the same structural integrity that boosts sustain helps articulate complex chords and fingerpicking in the studio.
In summary, our Full Carbon Dreadnought is lightweight, durable, and powerful. We leverage advanced materials and careful design to give musicians a professional acoustic that works anywhere. It’s a guitar made for travel, for gigs, and for inspiration – a guitar you truly won’t want to leave behind.
