I was a little flustered by the information on the website. It said, most orders shipped in 2 days. I ordered engraving, but the site didn’t mention that there would be a shipping delay. Chat informed me that the guitar was out for engraving and would ship that week. Didn’t ship. I’m suggesting a better way of communicating with the customer. Also, I paid $44.00 for 6 day shipping. Seems a little high for an 8lb guitar in a compact box. Oh well! On to the good stuff! When I assembled and played the guitar, I was amazed with the fullness and clarity of its voice! Bass is full without overshadowing the mids and highs. This is something my other guitars lack in! Simply amazing. I had a buddy play it a little and he did not want to stop! You may have a new customer in the works. I’ve found a new travel buddy and probably my favorite guitar that I own! It’s heading with me to South Dakota for Christmas! I’ve played McPherson carbon line and feel that the Klos holds its own (maybe a little better to my ear) against their product. For the price, it’s a winner in my book.
Had I known how this guitar (full size acoustic/electric full-carbon fiber) would sound and feel, I would have ordered it months ago. I visited guitar forums and YouTube channels trying to decipher how various artists truly felt about KLOS guitars and looking for comparisons with competitors. I called my local shops: they neither had carbon fiber guitars on hand nor had they any experience with them. Here were my concerns and my reactions to now having this guitar for a little over a week: 1. Will it be fragile? This guitar feels incredibly sturdy. 2. Does it weigh a ton? It's super light. 3. Does it feel like a toy? No, it's slightly smaller than my Taylor acoustic and possibly easier to play. 4. Does it sound tinny? No. It sounds somewhat different from a wooden guitar, but it's a lovely, resonant sound. 5. Does it sound tiny? No, but my go-to wooden acoustic does not have a huge sound (e.g. can get drowned-out when playing with other acoustic musicians) and I can play louder on it than I can on the KLOS. That said, it plays loud enough for my purposes. 6. Does it sound good amped? YES. This was a big surprise. I was grinning ear-to-ear. 7. Does it break down easily for storage/transportation? Easy enough. I haven't had a reason to travel with it yet, so I haven't broken it down more than once. 8. Is it fairly portable? It's small enough and light enough to make it onto an overhead of an airplane no question. It's robust enough so that if it got checked in with regular luggage, you wouldn't need to panic. I'm not sure if you could fit it under a seat in the gig bag it comes with, although I'd love to hear if people have succeeded at doing so and look forward to testing this out myself. I haven't lugged it with me on a bus or plane trip yet. We'll have to wait and see. Overall, I'm glad I didn't wait any longer to try this guitar. I can't comment on the competition, but so far it's delivering everything I imagined it would, it's made in the USA, and I am satisfied with my decision. As an added bonus, they have excellent customer support, even for little items. There was a slight problem with my gig bag, which they replaced incredibly fast. Much appreciated!
I love this guitar. Terrific focused, balanced tone. Beautiful fit and finish, and a great neck shape that felt like home as soon as I wrapped my hand around it. Plenty loud. Customer support is A-1.
Very impressed by the sound quality and playability of this full carbon guitar. Really well done KLOS team!
Amazing guitar, it's really nice! It's resonation is unbeatable, and I'm quite sure it's built to last a lifetime... I have only 1 issue. It's extremely neck heavy. I can't have it sit on my lap just right from the lack of weight and the curved back, and when changing chords the neck juts forward because the lack of said weight and gripping form from also said body. Other than those 2 critiques, I love it to death, I'll just have to find a way to make it sit right.
