The quality of the instrument, the high-end Fishman electronics, the setup done by the luthier to set up a low-G with a low action, and even the machine heads are top notch. Customer Service was amazing, too. There is a mistake in the construction of my uke in that a feature I did not order was added. I did not like the feature, the Customer Service folks checked the details of my order, decided it was Klos Guitars' mistake and immediately made a new one for replacement. I am particularly impressed with this resolution as the uke had custom engraving and Klos simply ate the cost in favor of doing the right thing by their Customer. There was zero hassle for me to get this issue resolved. Soon I will do my first live performance with this uke and I think it's going to go great. I will post another review when I know more.
Someone gifted me the tenor ukulele model two years ago. I have always loved it, enough to keep up with practice and improve. It just sings. The sound is better now than before. Very easy to keep in tune. My favorite possession on earth. Thank you!
It was a positive experience right from the start, love the professional staff and I love my ukulele, it’s beautiful and sounds beautiful!!!
I have been playing this uke for almost 2 weeks now, and this is a great instrument! The neck is straight as arrow. It stays in tune. Intonation is excellent all over the fretboard. Neck shape is very comfortable, not too skinny or too fat. There was a gentleman on Youtube who made a comment that width at nut is bit narrow. I don't find that to be the case at all! In fact I checked the spec on your website, did a little math, and I came to the conclusion that spacing between strings are same as traditional classical guitar. There are plenty of space to do Olympic level finger gymnastics here. I was bit apprehensive about changing strings. It is different from traditional way to string at bridge, but it was much easier than I expected. I changed the strings to D'Addario Titanium strings. It has bigger diameter than what it came with, and it is easier for my playing. Overall, it is a great instrument. Huge upgrade from my last one. I will be posting videos soon, so stay tuned, and check out my Youtube channel "Masato Music."
I am in love with my Klos Uke. Let’s just establish that from the beginning. I worried about how carbon fiber would sound compared to the rest of my small collection of mostly Hawaiian-made koa ukes. I love natural materials so much that I even use real gut strings (lamb, not cat) for the warmest tone. I got the Klos because I hate traveling with my wood ukes, and my wife hates how **** I get about them. I expected a solid, maybe too bright sound from this uke based on everything I’d read and heard. But I have been AMAZED by this Klos. The carbon fiber transmits the sound so differently than wood, but with such clarity. I love to strum this ukulele quietly because you can hear every aspect of the notes, like a whisper amplified by a mic. It leaves me with goosebumps every time I play it. Let’s talk customization—this is a custom shop and they will bend over backwards to hook you up and make the uke all yours. I got the sound hole (I’ll talk about that in a minute) but specially requested it to be placed in the upper bout instead of the regular lower bout placement, which they were able to do. I also asked about strap locks, and they offered to install them for me if I just sent the locks I wanted. My man George there made me a Klos uke that is like no other one. And back to that custom sound hole. If you get a Klos, get the sound hole. I didn’t know what I was missing out on—what my audience hears whenever I play—but the sound hole so effectively directs the sound up to you as the player. It is incredible; this sounds corny, but this uke inspires me to play just for myself. And finally, the looks—I knew this uke would be nice, and I’m a huge Johnny Cash fan, so black was just right for me. But it is sleek and gorgeous in a way that’s hard to describe. The fit and finish are unlike anything I’ve seen before—simply perfect. Handling a high end wood uke is like handling fine furniture or something, but with the space-age carbon fiber construction, this feels like a perfectly machined tool with exacting tolerances. In conclusion, I’m an instant convert and fan. I hear there are other ukes in the works in coming years, so hopefully this won’t be the last Klos that I get my hands on.
Bought this for a trip in a humid climate. Simply put...it rocks. Stays in tune. Plays super well and the tone is way beyond what I expected for this product. In comparison, I have a koa wood hand made Uke by a local artist and in sound and tone the Klos stands up and is a great compliment. Looking forward to many trips with this companion.
