Despite Tim showing an interest in guitar, Tim’s older, guitar-playing brother suggested to their father that Tim should learn bass. Thus, he became a bassist for 8 years. Later he realized that he really wanted a more solo oriented instrument. Tim bought a used, beginner guitar and spent a year transitioning his bass knowledge into rhythm guitar. He then started playing open-mics as a guitarist instead of filling in on bass for others. Now he uses his know-how to teach introductory guitar skills at summer camp. He says that his KLOS is great for camp but also that his 2-year old "son is more than welcome to get familiar with it as its durability... [assures] that [his son] won't kill it.” Tim's KLOS is the "perfect size for his son to learn on," when that time comes.
